At a glance – an ALL FEMALE panel that I had the pleasure of hosting and moderating today, as we demystified #blockchaintechnology and explored the legal implications of this burgeoning tech. The aim of the panel was to break down the abstract idea of this distributed ledger ecosystem and to explore its practical benefits.
In conjunction with girls in ICT day and to encourage more women to join this exciting tech sector, we had MOS Low Yen Ling from the Ministry of Trade and Industry kick off with an opening address, supporting #womenintech.
We also had ‘crypto queen’, Zann Kwan, 关旨斌, CFA, CA, FCCA , co-founder and CEO of Bitcoin Exchange Pte Ltd and Elise Yee Ling Tan from Longhash Ventures share examples of how blockchain transcends beyond the parameters of #Fintech. Meanwhile, lawyers Sharon Chong from RHT Law Asia and Esther Hor from PCA Law highlighted the potential legal problems that could arise from blockchain systems spanning multiple jurisdictions and much more.
Real life stories of how the #sustainability and #transparency aspects of blockchain can be utilized in local businesses were also discussed by entrepreneurs, Winnie Chan and Dr Jade Kua.
A truly enriching afternoon of learning how to leverage the blockchain #ecosystem!
