So imagine my delight when I got speak to Michael Owen IN PERSON 20 years later at the DBS Bank market outlook event.
One of the most prolific goal scorers in English football history, and ballon d’or winner, he was refreshingly candid and down to earth.
As we explored the exciting facets of sports investing, Michael shared snippets of his career playing for world famous clubs (Liverpool, Real Madrid, Man U!), leadership & business lessons as well as life beyond the field. We also had a good chat backstage about moving into broadcasting and juggling family + work.
My biggest takeaway from our fireside was the sheer discipline, mindset and attitude required to pursue winning at the highest levels – absolutely admirable!
