How do you COMMAND A ROOM when you have the floor to speak? ????

This is one of the key topics addressed in my coaching sessions on executive presence and presentation skills. You want to be noticed and remembered for the right reasons, and not have you or your message forgotten by the end of the day. So here’s a quick trio to take note of:

1️⃣ Look The Part:
First impressions count a great deal, especially in broadcast. Paying attention to how you are dressed and groomed can contribute to your credibility and reputation.

2️⃣ Avoid Body Language Mistakes:
Scowling, not establishing eye contact and angling your body away from the audience are non-verbal cues that signify a lack of confidence, low energy levels and that you may possibly be disinterested – certainly not the image you want to project when you’re on stage with an important topic to share.

3️⃣ Know Your Audience:
Are you presenting to industry peers who are familiar with jargon? Or to a younger audience to inspire and influence? Choose your words, curate your message and decide on the ‘right’ tone to address them. The key is to be effectively understood.

There are also aspects of the ‘voice’ that play a role in elevating your presence but I’ll save that for the next post. ???? #executivepresence#leadership#coaching#presentationskills
