Age is just a number, isn’t it?

I had the most enlightening conversation about combating #Ageism with feminist activist, Dr Kanwaljit Soin.

In the latest episode of #CSGameChangers, we look at ageing and ageism and how inclusive visions should incorporate this reformative stage of life. How can we reverse the stereotype of older people as dependent and less economically productive? Oftentimes, we are unaware of our inherent ageist attitudes.

My key takeaways on ageing successfully in the 21st Century from the irrepressible Dr Soin:

?Chronological age does not equate with cognition not function- so why should we equate it with capability?

-?As we embrace multi-stage living, we must find ways to lead flexible and fulfilling lives even after “retirement” so that we can stave off dementia and be useful to society. (Dr Soin cites examples of how women can do this effectively.)

?”Age is just a perspective: if you hold a positive perspective, you will add years to your life and life to your years.”
At 82 years young, Dr Soin exemplifies just that!
