I’m honoured to kick off the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s 50th anniversary celebrations as the host of their Partners Appreciation evening.
In a #hybrid event, 17 key partners of MAS were recognized for their significant contributions to Singapore’s financial sector. We also had DPM Heng Swee Keat, Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Emeritus Senior Minister, Goh Chok Tong join us virtually for this special evening.
Our guest of honour, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong highlighted that MAS will need to combine caution with creativity as the industry confronts disruptive technologies and transitions to a low-carbon economy.
I attended many press conferences at the MAS building 10 years ago, furiously writing notes, filming on site and rushing back to base to file my stories for the evening news.
On this special occasion, it was really nice to play a role in our central bank’s Golden Jubilee celebration. To commemorate the event, MAS also launched their book, “Resilience, Dynamism, Trust” – a tome containing 50 inspirational, insightful and impactful quotes from financial leaders through the years. It was lovely to see the financial community and its #trailblazers coming together to look ahead and renew their #partnerships for another fruitful 50 years and beyond. Happy 50th Anniversary, MAS!
