MD Ravi Menon launched the event with his address, which was then followed by an engaging discussion with my panellists that centered around job opportunities in the financial services sector and how #IBF and #MAS can work closely with stakeholders to support Singaporeans in assessing these opportunities through job retention and fostering job readiness. So much is being done to create avenues into the financial industry, including training programmes for fresh grads, mid-career workers and even targeted programmes to entice ex-bankers back into the finance industry. There’s also concerted efforts to hire and upskill employees in machine learning and data analytics and more.
These newly launched programmes can only yield success if the individual is galvanized to step into new territory and upskill – another pressing topic that was raised during our discussion.
