What a power packed morning that was, hosting Workday Elevate 2020, that went digital this year!

Instead of a regular webinar, the programme was conceptualised as a fast-paced and slick TV talkshow production, which I very much enjoyed being the host of. I felt like I was back on home ground again, conducting interviews remotely and speaking directly to camera as the glue of the show.

To kick off the programme, I had the opportunity to interview inspirational speaker and best-selling author, Simon Sinek. The conversation with Simon was so dynamic and authentic; I took away a lot of valuable insights just from talking to him for 40 minutes. Simon and I spoke about how an organisation can leverage culture to drive organisational agility, and why having a just cause and the right leadership is so crucial in these changing times. We also discussed why having an infinite mindset can help leaders and businesses thrive. What a way to open the show.

You wouldn’t have guessed that I had a wake up call at 3AM that morning of Simon’s interview. Thank god for makeup artists that do a fabulous job of breathing life into my face, regardless of the time of day.

I also had the chance to interview Jonathan Allaway, chief technology officer at Temasek.  Jon is such an energetic speaker and was so current in discussing how technology enables business outcomes; he also expounded on the importance of clarity in destination when driving digital transformation. To quote him, “Digital transformation is a strategic imperative that you (business leaders) absolutely have to do in order to get your customers back and get business going again.”. Great insights and learning from Jon, as always.

Another Workday customer I spoke to was Jolene Chen, the group head of HR at Prudential PLC. Jolene shared how #purpose and #values can unify and transform organisations during her keynote. She also talked about what qualities the organisation looks out for in new employees and how Prudential ensures its values and culture are embraced via a “top down, bottom up and middle out approach”.

We also got to hear from Workday Elevate executives and performance evangelists during the show and participants could head into breakout rooms for further discussions. I was so pleased with how the whole production came together and how the concept of a virtual talkshow for Workday Elevate was brought to life.

There was such a massive effort that went on behind the scenes to make this all look seamless and I’m so glad the team pulled it off .

Congratulations, Workday! You’ve certainly set the bar high for future ‘events’. Thank you once again for having me host your inaugural digital experience. I had so much fun! #virtualevents #newnormal #presenter
