Finally!
Out of the newsroom and under a different kind of spotlight with a live audience.
After 9 years in the newsroom, I’ve decided to go into full time hosting and moderating, which is something I really enjoy.
A good host or emcee can really make or break your event. A good host would have done his/ her homework about the event, the company, the guests, the speakers and know the content, script, and rundown of the programme inside out. A seasoned host reads situations, nuances, body language and is able to connect with the audience, capturing their attention with ease. A great host is always prepared, and is also a great story-teller, ready to share anecdotes and true-to-life stories that are relevant to that event. A professional host doesn’t have to refer to a script to manage the event, and can easily keep the communication going at an easy banter, despite last minute changes or hiccups. A great moderator also asks great questions that are relevant. And that’s what I bring to the table with 9 years experience honed at Channel NewsAsia as a business and general news anchor. I dealt with breaking news on a daily basis and I am trained to remain calm and to carry on with the show despite any ‘chaos’ happening in the background or right in front of you.
I am always prepared and I always deliver.
So here’s to new beginnings!
